What I resist persists.
Try NOT picturing a pink elephant with blue spots. My brain can’t picture NOT, it pictures a pink elephant with blue spots.
When I create a focus for myself, or with my clients, it’s never on what I or they don’t want, but the opposite.
For example, try flipping thoughts from;
‘I want to be less stressed today’, to ‘I want to feel calm today’.
‘I don’t want money worries’, to ‘I’m in control of my finances’.
‘I don’t want any more difficult customers’ to ‘I want win / win relationships’
‘I must try and give up smoking because it’s killing me’, to ‘I want to be fit and healthy for my grandchildren’s weddings’.
Prime yourself with positive visualisations and the brain looks for hits.
Then notice and acknowledge what happens.
