A purposeful change to the routine last week.
Wake up > breakfast > ski > lunch > more ski > the bar > dinner > sleep > repeat.
Non-stop and pretty exhausting, I felt I really needed a holiday when I came back.
But on Monday, without thinking about it, I got straight back into the default weekly routine.
Up at 5.30 for an hour of personal development and yoga, the office 8-12, 2 x 30 minute timed slots on writing the book, the gym 5pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday, tennis Tuesday, on my orchard Thursday, dinner by 6.30 and bed by 9.30 latest.
This is the power of habit, or routine – we don’t need to burn brain cells thinking about what to do. It can stifle creativity, but then you can build in down time for that as well.
This will be an important part of the book, Life by Design; Structures for fulfilling on what’s important to me and where I’m headed.
