The phrase “make things as simple as possible but not simpler” is attributed to Albert Einstein.
This can be a useful concept in both business and personal life.
See if you can distinguish in a single phrase what sums up your life purpose. And from that create clear goals in a vision that are not too set in detail, but allow you room for flexibility and creativity in your day to day decision making. Making it easier and therefore quicker for what you say yes or no to.
In business you want a ‘Caveman grunt’ response to what you do. What’s in it for me? And how to I get it? If people have to burn too many brain cell calories on working this out you’re likely to lose them.
Think about the simplicity of some big brands and you ‘get them’ immediately.
It can take time to draft and craft these things to get them as clean as a bone, but in the long term it will force you to be clear yourself, and to communicate to others clearly.
I’m currently compiling content for my book, Life by Design, and welcome your thoughts on this…
