What do you do if you have a good idea?
Or someone says something that would be good to remember?
Today, more than ever before, we are exposed to so much potentially useful information that we hit the paradox of choice wall. With so much to take in, never mind act upon, the options become so overwhelming that we end up doing nothing.
What I have discovered, and has worked consistently for 10 years and counting, is an effective filter for discarding 99.99% of the noise. I like Tony Robbins’ saying to purposefully stand guard at the door of your mind.
If you do let something in, put up the rope again behind it.
Then write it down, under one of three headings;
- This gets me clearer of what’s most important to me in life.
- This helps me create a clearer ultimate Vision for my life.
- This helps me create a better habit, routine, discipline or actions to move closer to that Vision.
By definition, the more we say no to in life, the less we are saying yes to, and the more focused and successful we become.
