Noticed how many times we fall into the success fallacy trap?
I’ll be happy when…
* I’m successful,
* have more money,
* moved property,
* finished this task,
* in or out of a relationship.
It’s flawed because it’s back to front. I could have any of these things, and I might not be happy because of what I want next, or there’s something else making me unhappy now.
If I’m more happy right now, I’m more likely to be more successful in the future with whatever I’m committed to.
We get the feel good dopamine hit in the anticipation – not when we arrive at the reward.
So, play the infinite game, always growing into want you want, never getting ‘there’.
Because if you play a finite game, when you do get there you might be ripe, rotting, and unhappy!
