Accountability in 2022
Following through on a declaration for this year.
With no boss, am I (really) the boss of my own life?
When we leave home, we are no longer accountable to parents or teachers, but to a boss – if we are employed.
But if self-employed we are only accountable to ourselves.
We are our own boss, designing the business and life we want.
We can choose everything; what time we get up in the morning, what we wear, what we eat, when we work, who we work with, and for how much.
But sometimes, along the journey, we lose sight of this and find ourselves saying;
‘I have to…’
‘I need to…’
‘I’ve got to…’
Somewhere we stopped saying; ‘I want to…’
Our lives become dominated by urgent actions more than important actions.
The work / life balance, and fulfilment, from self-employment seems to disappear.
We are human! And need some structure that keeps us on track for what we declare is important to me.
To feel like we’re making progress, and keep taking those important / not-urgent actions that are going to make the most difference to what we want.
Including elimination – what to say No to, as well as Yes to in 2022.
What’s your accountability structure for this?
Two key checks;
1. Is there a plan – something physical in existence, like a diary, or a chart or poster on the wall?
2. Is there an accountability person – a pretend ‘boss’ that you report into?
The start of a year.
A great time to make a powerful Declaration.
And then have a Structure to follow through.
